Hino Launches Hino Connect Driver App to Help Drivers Become More Efficient, Safe, and Connected

PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) launched its latest digital innovation at GIIAS 2025, Hino Connect Driver, a smart telematics application designed specifically for Hino vehicle drivers. Presented as a tangible solution of the Total Support spirit, this application reinforces Hino's commitment to helping customers manage their fleets more efficiently, safely, and productively.

Since its introduction in 2020, Hino Connect has become the standard OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) telematics system embedded directly into all Hino vehicles, including the Hino 300 Series, 500 Series trucks, and buses. To date, over 120,000 vehicles have adopted this system, making it one of the most trusted telematics services in Indonesia's commercial vehicle industry. However, behind this success lies one key concern: drivers, who are at the forefront of fleet operations, have not had direct access to their own performance data. This is what prompted the development of the Hino Connect Driver app.

“We believe that drivers are not just executors, but important partners in our customers’ transportation business. Hino Connect Driver is a tangible manifestation of our efforts to bring technology closer to drivers so that they can understand, evaluate, and improve their performance,” said Takashi Muto, President Director of HMSI.

Hino Connect Driver is an Android-based application that provides drivers with direct access to telematics data for the vehicles they operate. The application is designed to be user-friendly, so it can be used by drivers from various backgrounds without requiring high-spec devices. Through this application, drivers can view a scorecard that records driving behavior such as sudden acceleration, braking, or driving speed. Additionally, drivers receive reminders for scheduled maintenance based on the vehicle's mileage. They can perform daily performance evaluations to improve driving quality and safety. They can activate the QR code scanning feature to directly link themselves to the vehicle unit. And they can use the face recognition feature for security and accuracy.

Until now, access to telematics data has only been available in monitoring rooms or fleet operations control centers. The Hino Connect Driver app bridges this gap, serving as a two-way communication tool between drivers and fleet management.

"With this app, customers can reduce operating costs such as fuel consumption and maintenance. At the same time, drivers feel more valued because they have control over their performance," added Muto.

The launch of Hino Connect Driver at GIIAS 2025 is part of Hino's grand mission to ‘Move Towards the Future Together’, in line with this year's Hino booth theme. HMSI is committed to continuing to deliver digital innovations and excellent after-sales services to support the smooth running and growth of its customers' businesses. Additionally, the launch of this application complements Hino's existing digital service ecosystem, such as Myhino and Hino Connect.
