Hino Indonesia Supports Children's Education and Disaster Preparedness Through Stories at GIIAS 2025

PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the advancement of the nation, not only through its superior commercial vehicle products, but also through social contributions that directly impact the lives of the community. At the Hino booth during the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, Hino held a ceremony to launch its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme titled "Readiness Through Stories: Reviving the Tradition of Storytelling for Disaster Education."

This programme is the result of a collaboration between Hino Indonesia and Sanggar Dongeng Kepompong Nusantara, a community that is active in children's education and the preservation of storytelling culture. Through roadshows to 25 primary schools in the Malang area of East Java, this programme carries out its mission of instilling social, cultural, and educational values of disaster preparedness in young children.

"Stories are not merely entertainment. Stories are bridges of knowledge and empathy. Through stories, children can learn about courage, responsibility, and preparedness for emergency situations," said Tomoki Hattori, Director of HMSI.

The ceremony was attended by Yudi Priyanto, S.Pd, Chairman of Sanggar Dongeng Kepompong Nusantara, and representatives from Hino management. The event also featured live storytelling clips that showed the children's enthusiasm and positive response to the programme.

As a company that has been present in Indonesia for 43 years, Hino understands the importance of contributing to social and cultural aspects. Moreover, Indonesia is a disaster-prone country, making early disaster preparedness education crucial.

Through this programme, Hino aims to enhance children's awareness of disaster preparedness, instill values of empathy and cooperation, and preserve storytelling as an enjoyable and effective educational medium.

Not only focusing on road safety education and technical training, Hino also strives to instil character building in the younger generation so that they grow up to be strong individuals who care about their surroundings.

"We believe that corporate social responsibility does not stop at providing commercial vehicles, but also touches on broader aspects of society. One way we do this is through cultural and humanitarian education programmes such as this," concluded Tomoki Hattori.
